I was thinking the other day, after having a conversation with an acquaintance, whom I know has a gross STD called Gonorrhea that gives him warts in his most private places, about a common virus that passes onto a large percentage of humans. This is the herpes simple virus, the virus that causes cold sores. The question that came to mind is, if someone has this virus and an active cold sore in or around the mouth, whether male or female, could this virus be passed on to a partner's genitals if the two engage in oral practices. Common knowledge is that the cold sore version and the STD are two separate strands, however the simplex version can live in the mouth and around the mouth, on the skin, therefore this concept leads me to inquire about it's passing on to other parts of the body; could it live?
Simply not curious, just inquiring,
