We woke up early to get our presentations prepared; we were set to present at 2pm. The internet was not up yet, and we did the best we could. Most of all, I learned another lesson in procrastination. By the time 2pm rolled around, we were set to go. The conference room was filled up with about 50 medical students and 15 faculty. While setting up our presentation, we met a medical doctor who was visiting SWU from University of Hawaii. Here was there working on building a research project at SWU and also looking into having University of Hawaii medical students exchange at SWU. I spent a good deal of time discussing research opportunities in infectious disease and global health in Thailand, and specifically at SWU, with him and learned a lot. Our presentation was the academic highlight of our trip. Our presentation included the Honors College, USF Health, what we learned at SWU, and why we and other students have interest in coming to SWU. During our presentation, we were able to interact with the crowd and divert into specific discussions. For example, we got a great deal of questions about what the medical program was like in the U.S., and at USF specifically. After our presentation, we spent the rest of the day resting up. We knew that the next few days would be intense hospital rounds.
