Day 13, Tuesday August 5th and Day14, Wednesday August 6th

We woke up to a great, all you can eat breakfast buffet at the Rayong City Hotel. We then walked to the nearest bus station, only about half an hour away, and bought a ticket to Trat. By the time we got to Trat, it was about 6pm. From there, we took a taxi to the pier. At the pier, we there was a ferry service that sold us round trip tickets to Ko Chang Island and back for 200 baht. The ferry was huge, the bottom floor was used to store cars. It was pretty crazy, the taxi drivers would just driv… Continue

Back home

A little jet lagged but it feels great to be back at USF and bring back all the experiences from Thailand. We will have a lot of work to do and meet with the Honors College, USF Health, and present what we learned about SWU, the people and places of Thailand, and building a continuing exchange program. Deepest thanks from me and Jordan to USF and all the people who supported this project. Stay tuned for more videos and pictures.

Day 12, Monday August 4th

We woke up at around 9am to catch a bus from SWU to Rayong City, a city along the Eastern Thai border, and so started our mission to get to the beaches. Basically, we took about 5 bus rides and 1 sky train to get to Rayong City. We got lost a few times to say the least. To Zayar and I, getting lost is fun and we enjoy wandering aimlessly around places we are not intended to be. I will not go into detail about how we finally got to Rayong City around 9pm, but I will tell you what is a great help.… Continue

Day 11, Sunday August 3rd

This Sunday was a fairly relaxed one. Our day began with a journey to wash some clothes. We began to run low on clean clothes. There was a laundry mat on the first floor of the dorms we were staying at, as well as one on the first floor of the dorms right across from us. From the recommendation of a few students, we chose to use the laundry mat in the building across. The price was about ten dollars or 350 baht for 60 units of clothes to be washed, not to exceed within 30 days. Having clothes wa… Continue

Day 10, Saturday August 2nd

Today, we realized SWU is really large! We disovered a huge indoor cafeteria about 2 minutes walking distance from our dorms. Initially, we had only been eating at the cafeteria in the hospital on the 5th floor. This cafeteria had about 15 vendors selling food, with an enormous variety of choices. While there, we made it a point to talk to some students. The entire cafeteria was full with about 250 students, all undergraduates. It was at this point that I began to learn about some of the many un… Continue
